Day 8

Toledo, Spain, known as the "City of the Three Cultures," is a historic hilltop city where Christian, Muslim, and Jewish influences blend beautifully. Its highlights include the stunning Toledo Cathedral, ancient synagogues and mosques, and a maze of medieval streets in the UNESCO-listed old town. You can also explore subterranean ruins, enjoy views over the Tagus River, and sample local favorites like marzipan and roast lamb. The most famous painting of Toledo is “View of Toledo” by El Greco, painted around 1596–1600. It shows the city dramatically perched on a hill under a stormy sky, capturing its spiritual and mysterious atmosphere. This masterpiece is one of the few landscapes from the Spanish Renaissance and is now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. To see the famous view of Toledo like in El Greco’s painting, go to Mirador del Valle. It's a 5–10 min taxi ride or 30–40 min walk from the city center. You can also take the tourist train or bus.
