Day 9

The Walls of Ávila, built in the 11th century, are some of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in Spain. Stretching over 2.5 km with 87 towers and 9 gates, they once protected the city and now offer stunning views. Part of the wall integrates the Ávila Cathedral, and the entire structure is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, symbolizing the city's rich medieval heritage. It was very windy walking around the wall. Be prepared to wear extra layers if you visit in winter—those open, elevated paths catch the chill quickly, but the views are absolutely worth it!

Segovia Cathedral is often called the “Lady of Cathedrals” (La Dama de las Catedrales) for its elegance and grandeur. Built between the 16th and 18th centuries in late Gothic style, it stands proudly in the main square, Plaza Mayor. With its towering spire, stunning stained glass, and ornate chapels, the cathedral blends Gothic majesty with Renaissance touches. It was one of the last Gothic cathedrals built in Spain and is known for its peaceful interior and impressive cloister. Our hotel is perfectly located on Plaza Mayor right next to the Cathedral. The service was excellent—they even offered a $20/night upgrade to a spacious suite with a balcony view of the Cathedral, which was totally worth it. You can book the same hotel here
