UK Day 4
On day 4, we checked out of our hotel in London and stored our luggage at the King's Cross Luggage Storage, just a short walk from the station. With our bags safely secured, we embarked on a train to Cambridge, excited to explore this historic university city.
Cambridge is renowned for its prestigious University, founded in 1209, and its stunning colleges like King’s College, known for its iconic chapel, and Trinity College. The city has a rich legacy in mathematics and science, being home to legendary figures such as Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, and Stephen Hawking. Visitors can enjoy punting along the famous River Cam or explore the tranquil Cambridge University Botanic Garden. The Fitzwilliam Museum offers impressive art and antiquities, while The Eagle pub holds historical significance as the place where Watson and Crick first announced their discovery of the structure of DNA. With its blend of intellectual history, beautiful architecture, and natural beauty, Cambridge is a truly captivating city.
After exploring Cambridge, we returned to King's Cross Station by train, retrieved our luggage, and then boarded a train to Edinburgh, eager to continue our journey north.
After a 5.5-hour journey, we finally arrived in the enchanting city of Edinburgh, often referred to as the 'City of Magic.' Edinburgh is a city that feels like magic, with its medieval architecture, winding streets, and a captivating atmosphere that transports you to another time. The ancient castles, cobbled lanes, and towering spires create a sense of wonder, making it a truly enchanting destination.
