Portugal Day 5
We booked an Airbnb apartment in Carvoeiro, and just a 7-minute walk from our place, we discovered Cafe Fino, where we had a fabulous breakfast. The cozy café offered a great selection of fresh pastries, delicious coffee, and other local treats, making it the perfect spot to start our day before exploring heading to the beach.
Algarve is a stunning region located in the southernmost part of Portugal, famous for its beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs, charming villages, and rich cultural heritage. The coastline is dotted with golden sands, clear blue waters, and impressive rock formations, making it a popular destination for beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Lagos, Albufeira, and Faro are some of the main towns, each offering its own unique atmosphere, from lively nightlife in Albufeira to the historic charm of Faro.
A Benagil Cave tour is a must-do experience for anyone visiting the Algarve region in Portugal. Located near the small village of Benagil, this stunning sea cave is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in the area. The cave, only accessible by water, features a large, open roof that allows sunlight to filter in, illuminating the sandy floor and creating a magical atmosphere. We took a sunset boat tour to reach the Benagil Cave, hoping to witness the stunning scenery at golden hour. However, we were disappointed to find that we weren’t allowed to leave the boat and enter the cave on our own. Instead, we could only admire the cave from the boat. Even though we couldn’t explore inside, the experience was still breathtaking as we glided past the impressive cliffs and got a closer look at the iconic cave's opening, with the soft evening light enhancing the beauty of the surroundings. We were told that nowadays, the only way to access the Benagil Cave up close is by taking a kayak or paddleboard from the nearby beach.
