Day 5

Setenil de las Bodegas is only 20-25 minutes by car (18 km) from Ronda. This unique village in Andalusia is famous for its houses built directly into and under massive rock overhangs. Streets like Calle Cuevas del Sol feature homes tucked beneath cliffs, creating natural shade and insulation. Part of the White Villages Route, Setenil de las Bodegas offers a surreal blend of architecture and nature.

Almodóvar del Río Castle is a beautifully preserved medieval fortress just 25 km from Córdoba, rich in history and stunning in design. Originally built by the Moors in the 8th century and rebuilt in the 14th, it features soaring towers, thick stone walls, and dramatic views over the Guadalquivir River. One of its most striking features is the balcony, which juts out from the massive walls like a lookout point, offering panoramic views of the valley. Facing the sunset, the castle glows in golden light, creating an unforgettable scene that blends history, architecture, and natural beauty. It also gained fame as a filming location for Game of Thrones, where it appeared as the stronghold of House Tyrell.
