Japan Day 2
After breakfast, then head to the Hakone Open-Air Museum(ticketreserved) by 10 AM to explore its stunning outdoor art. Around 11:30 AM, ride the cable car and ropeway up to Ōwakudani, where you can stroll through the volcanic valley and try the famous black eggs. By 1 PM, enjoy lunch near Tōgendai before boarding a scenic Lake Ashi cruise at 2 PM. Disembark at Moto-Hakone and walk to the picturesque Hakone Shrine, followed by a peaceful stroll along the Cedar Avenue. Around 4 PM, take a tea break at a local café, then check into a ryokan by 5 PM for a relaxing soak in a hot spring.
After enjoying your onsen and traditional kaiseki dinner in Hakone, head to Odawara Station, which is about 40 minutes away by local train or taxi from Hakone-Yumoto. From there, catch a Hikari or Kodama Shinkansen on the Tokaido Line bound for Kyoto, with the journey taking approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
